Getting Started
Psychotherapy is an active partnership between the therapist and the client. Together we work to address the issues that are most important to you.
In our first session, we will talk about your most urgent concerns and what you want to accomplish in therapy. This is also a time for you to see if you are comfortable with me and for me to assess whether my services are appropriate for addressing your concerns. We will also talk about how the therapy process works and review issues of confidentiality and privacy.
After our initial session, I typically recommend that we meet weekly, although we may choose to meet more or less frequently depending on the issues you are facing. We will also establish a regular schedule for your sessions.
